Serengeti Park
Serengeti National Park is a world-renowned wildlife sanctuary located in Tanzania, East Africa. It covers an area of 14,763 square kilometers and is home to one of the largest and most diverse populations of wildlife in the world, including the famous “Big Five” – elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and rhinos.
The park is best known for the annual wildebeest migration, where over a million wildebeest, zebras, and other grazing animals travel from the Serengeti to the neighboring Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya in search of greener pastures. This migration is considered one of the most spectacular wildlife events on the planet.
Apart from the migration, the Serengeti is also home to other incredible wildlife such as cheetahs, giraffes, hyenas, and a variety of bird species. Visitors can enjoy game drives, hot air balloon safaris, guided walks, and cultural tours to the nearby Maasai villages.
The Serengeti National Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981 in recognition of its importance as a unique and irreplaceable natural wonder of the world.
