The Tamarind Dhow is an exquisite Dinner Dhow trip that sails along the Creek of Mombasa as you enjoy your Dinner and nice exotic music played by a local band. Experience delightful moments with live band & dancing under the stars cruising while you enjoy a tantalizing seafood meal.
The Nawalilkher and Babulkher are authentic, ocean-worthy Jahazis – traditional Arab sailing boat. The dhows are the ultimate magical dining experience. They are authentic ocean going dhows that have been completely refurbished as floating restaurants.
Nawalilkher, with a capacity for 70 pax for dinner and 100 for cocktails, is the main dhow available for individual bookings. Babulkher, with a capacity of 60 pax for dinner and 80 pax for cocktails, will also be available for exclusive hire.

Lunch consists of a delicious Tamarind seafood platter, or a prime Kenyan fillet steak followed by fresh tropical fruit salad, and rounded off with Kenya coffee and halwa. The dhow returns to the jetty at 3.00 pm. The lunchtime cruise departs from the Tamarind jetty at 1.00 pm. Cruise gently up the Tudor creek to a quiet spot where the Dhow moors.

The dinner cruise commencing at 6.30 pm, begins with a welcome “Dawa” cocktail as the dhow sails smoothly towards Fort Jesus. The twinkling lights of Mombasa and the starlit skies provide idyllic surroundings for a delicious seafood dinner. The resident DJ offers a wide choice of dance music, from the latest hits to the golden oldies. Dance to the beat as you gently glide back to the Tamarind Jetty by 10.30 pm.
NB: This tour CANT BE BOOKED with solo travelers. We will, of course, remain flexible to your requirements at all times depending on your numbers – if you have incentive groups that require both dhows please let us know in good time.
Pick up from your Mombasa Diani beach hotel to Tamarind Dinner Cruise in Mombasa and return thereafter to Diani Beach
