07:30 AM – Pick-up from Arusha

Your Arusha National Park Day Trip begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel, lodge, or residence in Arusha City. Meet your professional English-speaking safari guide and depart in a customized 4×4 Safari Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof. Enjoy a scenic drive through the foothills of Mount Meru as you head to Arusha National Park.

08:30 AM – Arrival & Morning Game Drive

After completing park entry formalities, embark on an exciting morning game drive through the park's diverse landscapes of lush forests, open grasslands, acacia woodlands, and rolling hills. Keep an eye out for Masai giraffes, Cape buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks, baboons, blue monkeys, and the park's famous black-and-white colobus monkeys. Your guide will share fascinating insights into the park's wildlife, flora, and conservation efforts.

10:30 AM – Visit Ngurdoto Crater Viewpoint

Continue to the spectacular Ngurdoto Crater, a volcanic caldera often referred to as the "Little Ngorongoro." From the viewpoint, enjoy panoramic views over the forested crater floor, home to buffaloes, warthogs, baboons, and an abundance of birdlife. This is an excellent stop for photography and taking in the breathtaking scenery.

11:30 AM – Guided Walking Safari

Experience one of the highlights of an Arusha National Park Day Trip with a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed Tanzania National Parks ranger. Walk through the natural wilderness while learning about animal tracks, indigenous plants, birds, and the unique ecosystem. This close-to-nature experience offers a different perspective of the African bush and is one of the few places in Tanzania where walking safaris are permitted.

01:00 PM – Picnic Lunch

Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch at one of the park's designated picnic sites, surrounded by beautiful scenery and the sounds of nature. Relax and recharge before continuing your afternoon adventure.

02:00 PM – Explore the Momella Lakes

After lunch, continue your safari to the picturesque Momella Lakes, a series of shallow alkaline lakes renowned for their seasonal flamingos and diverse birdlife. Depending on the time of year, you may also spot pelicans, Egyptian geese, African fish eagles, cormorants, kingfishers, herons, and other migratory birds. The lakes are also frequented by giraffes, zebras, and buffaloes, providing fantastic wildlife photography opportunities.

03:30 PM – Afternoon Game Drive

Enjoy a final game drive through different sections of the park in search of wildlife you may have missed earlier. With changing light and animal activity, the afternoon often offers excellent opportunities to observe wildlife in their natural habitat while taking in the spectacular views of Mount Meru.

04:30 PM – Depart Arusha National Park

Exit the park and begin your return journey to Arusha, enjoying the scenic landscapes and reflecting on the day's unforgettable safari experiences.

05:30 PM – Drop-off in Arusha

Arrive back at your hotel, lodge, or Kilimanjaro International Airport, marking the end of your memorable Arusha National Park Day Trip.
